We are so lucky; the sun always seems to shine for us on our Freedom Adventures!
With a 7am start, fresh coffee and two buses full of Adventurers, we set out for the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula.
The first stop was Waitpinga Beach Reserve.Breakfast was served amongst the leafy trees and to the songs of the native birds. After seasonal fruit, muesli, and Silvia’s zucchini slice, everyone was energised and ready to go.
The coastal trek started with an abundance of wildlife, from native birds to a kangaroo hopping across our path. The sun started breaking free from the clouds and shone upon us, welcoming us to the upcoming cliffs overlooking the ocean.
Perched on the clifftops of the South Australian coast, with the sheer power of the ocean reminding us howvulnerable we are to the forces of mothernature, the trek took us through some awe-inspiring landscapes.
The whole endeavour took three hours, including rest stops, which allowed us to fully absorb the dichotomy of serenity and chaos of the landscape.
Our destination was reached at Kings beach, only to find the beach was alomst washed away from the
high tide leaving us no choice but to post pone the beach volleyball and get straight into the Yoga session. With waves washing onto the shore there was no need for music as we meditated to the orchestrating sounds of nature.
A catered lunch was served before it was time for some optional ocean recovery. Those who chose to take the plunge spent 15 minutes partaking in chilling lunges, squats, and swims – enough
time in the icy water for everyone involved.
The drive home took an unexpected turn into Zerella Winery.
We found ourselves immersed in the vines, sampling some of the most beautifulMcLaren Vale, European-style wines while looking out over the sun-drenched vineyards.
What a day!
