FREEDOM ADVENTURE 7: A WINTERS WALK
A cold winters morning was upon us for our latest Freedom Adventure. A 6.30am departure, with a quick stop at Crack Kitchen to pick up everyone’s morning coffee, and Kim, one of our keen adventurers.
The Trek began at Mt Crawford Forest, where we were welcomed by a group of curious kangaroos. . .
The 15km adventure started off walking through a stunning pine forest full of wildlife. We were then lead to a goat style track which took us through some of South Australian most beautiful scenery.
The diversity of the track took us through rocky outcrops to elevated viewing points. With plenty of refreshment stops to soak in the scenery and replenish our fuel supplies.
It wouldn’t be a winters walk without being caught in a winters shower. With everyone laughing as wet weather gear was put on. The rain stopped as the adventurers kept going, finishing the loop back at Mt Crawford Forrest.
The open fields surrounded by forest created the perfect ambiance for Zina’s yoga style mindfulness and Meditation session.
After a morning full of adventure we were ready to replenish. Seated on a fallen tree, everyone enjoyed their fully catered for lunch.
As reluctant as we were to leave the serenity and peace of the forest our next stop was Lobethal Road Winery in the Adelaide hills.
Welcomed with a glass of wine and cheese platter, the adventures congregated around the open fire, reminiscing about the day while tasting some of South Australians finest wines.
The bus trip home took us through the dramatic landscape of Gorge Rd and back to Freedom Fitness.
A most enjoyable day was had by all with everyone looking forward to FREEDOM ADVENTURE 8.
