On an overcast summers day, greeted by a freshly made coffee from Sea Breeze Espresso by our Barista – Belinda, the Freedom Adventurers boarded the Freedom Bus and headed south to Deep Creek.
Traveling via the Fleurieu coastline and through the evergreen vineyards, we entered the dirt roads of Deep Creek only to be slowed down by the abundance of curious kangaroos hopping around the bus, welcoming us to their home.
The elevated Trek starts off with spectacular views of the coastline before descending steeply to a cove only to repeat itself.
With may challenging sections the Trek took us to the flats of the hills. Checking up on us again was a group of Kangaroos, not bothered by our movements, just watching us pass by.
We all regrouped at Trigg Campground. This was the halfway mark and a good spot to replenish our thirst.
The Trek then leads us through a canopy of trees with various viewing points of the ocean and beyond.
Lead by the sounds of streaming water, we all stopped for refreshments at the spectacular waterfall. With some adventurers climbing to the top while others just resting their legs. It was hard to drag ourselves away from this natural oasis.
Finally, we all hiked the final leg up to the beginning of the trek. With the stunning coastline as a backdrop, and slowing time down to reflect on the day. We all went through a Hatha Yoga session. Breathing in nature’s gift.
A fully catered plant-based lunch was served as we all chatted about the day’s events. All aboard the Freedom Bus had us heading to Zeralla Winery in Mclaren Vale for an end of trip wine and wind down before heading home.
A great day for all and a big thank you to all Freedom Adventurers who have provided both Myself and Zina with so much fun throughout the year.
